Online Games for Practicing Adjectives

http://www.funenglishgames.com/grammargames/verbnounadjective.html (this game also covers nouns, verbs and adverbs)

Poetry!

Today, we will be creating a Color Poem.  You will begin by choosing a color and then filling out the Y Chart in pencil.  This will help you brainstorm ideas for your color poem.  When you are finished with your Y Chart, you will open the Color Poem template on the computer (make sure you click on YOUR name).  Use your imagination and be creative with your poem.  When you are finished, I will show you how to change the font color so that it is the same as the color you selected for your poem.  I can't wait to see your finished poems!

Book Reports on the iPad!

Today, everyone will create a book report about one of your favorite books.  Hopefully, you completed the chart that was given for Language Arts homework last night.  If you were not able to work on the chart, you will open Raz-Kids and practice reading books and taking the quiz for comprehension.   I am looking forward to learning some interesting information about your favorite books!

April is Poetry Month!

So, we will create some poetry today.  You will have a choice between two different types of poetry:
1.  A Theme Poem - select one of the themes (nature, school, sports, etc.) and use words that describe your theme.  Your poem will print in the shape of the theme you selected.
Click on the link below to begin creating your Theme Poem:

2. A Diamante Poem - a diamond-shaped poem that uses nouns, adjectives, and -ing words to describe two opposite topics (for example, night/day or winter/spring).  It does not have to rhyme.
